Other Remarks

Khin Swe Myint is a 38-year-old Myanmar helper who is married and has three children aged 11, 8 and 5 years old. She has four siblings and is the youngest child in her family. Through raising her own children, she has gained hands-on experience in understanding children’s daily routines and needs.

She shared that she has 9 months of experience working as a Nurse Aid in home care in Myanmar. She assisted senior nurses in providing care for patients, especially elderly. Her responsibilities included changing diapers, changing clothes, changing bedsheets, assisting with bowel care, changing urinary catheters and bathing patients. Through her Nurse Aid experience, she has gained knowledge and confidence in elderly care.

She previously worked as a helper in Myanmar for 2 years for a family consisting of the employer, employer’s husband, a 75-year-old grandfather and a 1-year-old boy. She mentioned that her main responsibility was taking care of the child, along with managing household duties such as cleaning and cooking. She shared that she was responsible for the child’s daily care including bathing, diaper changing, feeding and attending to all of the child’s needs.

She shared that as a mother, she is comfortable taking care of children and is able to care for children from newborn age onwards. She mentioned that she can handle children’s daily routines including feeding, bathing, changing diapers and providing care according to their needs. She is also able to take care of elderly grandfathers and grandmothers, including bathing and assisting with daily routines. She is comfortable sleeping together with both elderly and children if required.

She has a Nurse Aid certificate and is willing to use her caregiving knowledge to assist elderly when required. However, she mentioned that she prefers childcare as she is more confident and experienced in taking care of children.

She is able to cook Myanmar dishes and simple Chinese dishes. She can follow recipes and is willing to learn more cooking styles according to the employer’s preference. She can manage general household duties including cleaning, laundry, ironing and maintaining household cleanliness.

She shared that she is comfortable with dogs and cats. Although she does not have previous experience taking care of pets, she is willing to learn and assist with pet care if required.

Through the interaction at the training centre, she appears to be a patient and open-minded person. She is willing to cooperate, learn and adapt to the employer’s requirements.

Families looking for a helper with childcare experience, Nurse Aid background and elderly care ability may consider her based on her caregiving skills and mothering experience. She is able to assist with elderly care but prefers childcare as she is more confident in taking care of children.

Our journey began with a simple observation from our own experiences as an employer: the challenges many face in finding reliable, skilled domestic helper while navigating the high agency fees and complexities of paperwork and processes. We realized that many agencies have overlooked the essence of service – understanding the genuine needs of both employers and employees.

Our company aim to integrate the current technology to make the hiring processes seamless for employer and they can do it even at the comfort of their home. This could significantly lower the cost to as low as the bare cost of direct hiring a helper. Our vision was born out of this understanding, and with a determination to bridge this gap, Easy Hire Maid Agency was established.
