Pa Pa Hlaing is a 26-year-old Myanmar helper who is widowed and has one 7-year-old daughter. She has two siblings and is the second child in her family. Through raising her own child, she has gained hands-on experience in understanding children’s daily routines and needs.

She has 2 years of working experience as a helper in Dubai. She previously worked for a family consisting of the employer, employer’s husband, a 70-year-old grandmother and a 2.5-year-old girl. She mentioned that her main responsibility was taking care of the child, along with managing household duties such as cleaning and cooking.

She shared that she was responsible for the child’s daily care including bathing, diaper changing, feeding and attending to all of the child’s needs. As a mother, she mentioned that she is comfortable taking care of children and is able to care for children from newborn age onwards.

She shared that she also has experience taking care of her own 65-year-old grandfather who was a stroke patient. She mentioned that she assisted him with bathing and daily care needs. She is comfortable taking care of elderly grandmothers and grandfathers, including bathing and assisting with daily routines. She is also comfortable sleeping together with both elderly and children if required.

She is able to cook Myanmar dishes and simple Chinese dishes. She can follow recipes and is willing to learn more cooking styles according to the employer’s preference. She can manage general household duties including cleaning, laundry, ironing and maintaining household cleanliness.

She shared that she is comfortable with dogs and cats. Although she does not have previous experience taking care of pets, she is willing to learn and assist with pet care if required.

Through the interaction at the training centre, she appears to be a patient and cheerful person. She is willing to cooperate, learn and adapt to the employer’s requirements.

Families looking for a helper with childcare experience, elderly care ability and a caring personality may consider her based on her mothering experience and caregiving skills. She is able to assist with childcare but prefers elderly care as she is more interested and confident in taking care of elderly.
