Khin Htar Thu is a 26-year-old Myanmar helper who is single and has 2 years of working experience in Myanmar. She has three siblings and is the second child in her family. Her family members will take care of her parents while she works overseas.
She previously worked for a family consisting of the employer, employer’s husband, a 3-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy. She mentioned that her main responsibility was taking care of the children, along with managing household duties such as cleaning and cooking. She shared that she was responsible for the children’s daily routines including bathing, feeding, sending and picking them up from school, playing with them and providing overall care according to their needs.
She shared that she enjoys childcare and is comfortable taking care of children. She is able to care for children from 3 years old onwards and can manage two children at the same time. She mentioned that she is also comfortable sleeping together with the child if required.
She is able to cook Myanmar dishes and simple Chinese dishes. She can follow recipes and is willing to learn more cooking styles according to the employer’s preference. She can manage general household duties including cleaning, laundry, ironing and maintaining household cleanliness.
She shared that she has experience taking care of her own grandmother and has completed a Nurse Aid course. Although she has limited professional elderly care experience, she is willing to learn and is comfortable assisting with elderly care if required. However, she mentioned that she prefers childcare as she is more confident and experienced in taking care of children.
She shared that she is comfortable with dogs and cats. She has experience keeping one dog and one cat at home, including feeding and bathing them.
Through the interaction at the training centre, she appears to be a patient and kind person. She is willing to cooperate, learn and adapt to the employer’s requirements.
Families looking for a helper with childcare experience, a caring personality and willingness to learn may consider her based on her hands-on childcare experience. She is also able to assist with elderly care when required.
